FFor my birthday, my fiancé surprised me with an afternoon at Victoria & Albert Museum in London to see Dior Exhibition. I wanted to go there for months but unfortunately I haven’t found tickets. This exhibition is really popular and everyone hurried themselves to buy tickets so it was quickly sold out. The only solution to have tickets was to become a member of the museum but it costed a bit more. Honestly I really wanted to visit this exhibition and I wanted to use this last option to see this exhibition. But my adorable who wanted to make me happy for this special day did his best to find tickets. Surprisingly, V&A museum resold some tickets really discreetly. He was just cheking if there was some tickets, just in case and he did it well! There was some tickets for the day of my birthday so he did not hesitate. When I learned it the big day I was so happy! I love exhibition since I’m a little girl (I did one about Titanic, Star Wars, perfumes, Barbie, …) and I try to not miss any exhibition that interest me.
I am a huge fashion addict and so it was the paradise to be at Dior Exhibition. I learned so many things about Christian Dior, someone I only knew by his famous name and brand. The exhbition starts with the story of his childhood, his family, until his beginning in fashion. It was interesting and fascinating at the same time! There wa so many things I didn’t know about him and his brand. I love learning more about famous people stories and how they success in their business. This is why I love reading biography of owners of famous companies like Sophia Amoruso and #Girlboss or Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, the creator of Nike. It’s inspiring! Also we learn that these people aren’t that much different from us and that they also did a pretty long course to success. I don’t know about you but it can really help me feeling stronger! We never know how close we are to success so this is why we shouldn’t give up.
Dior Exhibition was about Christian Dior, of course, but also about the steps of his brand. The exhibition is much more about couture, but we also learn some things about famous products of the brand such as the perfume J’adore or the well-known bag Lady Dior. But most of the exhibition is about the fashion of Dior. Besides, as you can see, a large collection of clothes and specially dresses was exposed. I was really impressed by the amount of clothes who was exposed and by the beauty of them. It’s so impressing because it’s not some sort of casual clothes, they are unsual treasures. To me, they are pretty much masterpieces! When you observe the details, you see the incredible work of the designers and it’s impressive. And what makes the experience even more magical is how they set each room with a different scene. Each room was magical and wonderful! However, I had a preference for the white and pink room with all the fake roses on the ceiling. Did I surprise you? You know how much I love pink and flowers!
I thought that the visit will last much less longer but I stayed few hours inside. I wanted to take my time, reading each sign, admiring each things precisely and of course to take some pictures. It was even more pleasant as there was not so many people around plus the rooms were spacious! I was peaceful as nobody was here to rush me. So I was able to see and read everything! About that, there was so many things to read! The only thing that I can suggest is to add more videos or short documentary to see. It might be interesting and funnier compared to simple signs where a text is written. At first I loved it but at the end, as there was so many things to read, my eyes was hurting. It wasn’t convenient! Okay it’s just a simple little detail and except that I guarantee you that everything was perfect!
I am so happy and grateful that I had the opportunity to visit Dior Exhibition at V&A Museum in London. At the beggining, I really thought that I would never have the chance to find tickets, but my incredible fiancé and the magic of Universe worked well. Can you imagine, he visited V&A website just in case and there was tickes for the day of my birthday. If it’s not a sign for you, it’s a huge sign for me! I was so happy and I will never forget this magical afternoon. It was fascinating, interesting, inspiring and so beautiful to see! I am a huge fan of fashion as I told you, I love fashion since I’m a little girl. So I was in paradise! What makes me even happier was that most of the clothes was dresses. Why? Because I am obssessed with dresses. The only clothing that I wear everyday is dresses or maybe skirt but never pants. It’s not that I think it’s ugly, but personally I feel more comfortable with dresses. Don’t ask me why! Also, while I was at Dior Exhibition I was thinking of my father because he is a fashion stylist. Moreover he once made a dress for a Guerlain advertising in the 2000’s. Fashion is something that followed me when I was younger so it brought me some good memories. I would love to see other famous brand doing similar exhibition, like for example Chanel. Maybe one day? If you love fashion or/and Dior I highly suggest you to see this exhibition even though I know that it’s hard to buy tickets. But who knows?
